Meadowcroft Farm Cottage was converted in 2012, originally designed as a farriers forge, we have tried to keep as many of the existing features as possible, including the chimney and fireplace for the forge, the unique kitchen window which is where the barn doors originated and the beams in the hay loft. We hope this adds a little charm and character to the overall experience of your stay.
The converted barn is at the end of a private drive with plenty of parking spaces and next to a working livery yard.
Children love to watch the horses in the stables and fields. If you are lucky you may be able to watch one of the horses being schooled in the arena outside the kitchen window.
Away from the stable yard at the front of the property there is a private flagged area which looks over Quarlton Valley, a beautiful place to watch the sunset in this tranquil location.
We welcome children, parents and grandparents of all ages, although we do ask you leave ALL pets at home, including dogs.
Our local area has lots of things on offer, some local landmarks include:
The Wayoh Reservoir
The Turton & Entwistle Reservoir
One of the best ice-creams in Lancashire
